Kudos to you for beginning this journey for yourself! The next step will take time…finding the right provider can seem overwhelming but trust your instincts. The relationship with your therapist will determine if you feel safe to open up or be receptive to new ways to address your concerns. I like to get feedback from clients on what works for them or not. Some people like to hear lots of feedback and some want to be heard so it’s important for me to know what you prefer. This is a relationship and it’s important to me that your needs are met. It takes courage to start therapy and you having a positive experience is essential.
I approach therapy from a whole person perspective and a strength based approach. For some clients, mindfulness-based techniques are the focus and for others, individualized homework is created for them to practice on their own in between sessions. Let’s create a plan that works for you.
healthy gut, healthy mind! Ask me how….we underestimate the body + mind connection. I was a Marriage and Family therapist before I went back to school to get my Doctorate in Psychology and I learned more techniques to help clients grow. I now have a Post-doc Masters in Pharmacology and am completing my practicum in a psychiatry clinic.
Whether it is a life-stage issue like stress management, parenting, or illness or a chronic condition like depression or anxiety, I have the training to help you develop new skills.
